The Groves Explorers just recently went to a workshop put on by the Beaumont Police Department's S.W.A.T. Team. It was very interesting and informative. They went through some class room training in Arrest Warrant Entry, and also ran the obstacle course. They learned techniques that could help them in a competition if they had an Warrant event.
September 15, 2000
The Explorers had a fundraiser dance, to help with the expenses of the upcoming competition in Pearland. The dance was a great success and a big thanks goes to the City of Groves for donating us their Activity Building for the night. Another big thanks goes to H-E-B #044 (Nederland) for donating the drinks we sold and to the Rythem and Dance DJ Service for their free service which was a big help.
September 22-24, 2000
The Explorers worked in conjunction with the Groves Police Department and the Port Neches-Groves High School Law Enforcement Program to help with security and traffic at the Texas Pecan Festival and Parade held in Groves.
The weekend was a success!!
November 11, 2000
The Explorers worked in conjunction with the Beaumont, Jefferson County and Vidor Police Explorers at the local competition. Teams from around the state competed in this competition which was a success.
